Public education is one of the single most important investments our state government makes in the lives of families. I've been a public education advocate since my eldest daughter, now a mother herself, was a student. I serve as my PTSA's President and have served as a Vice President of the Seattle Public Schools PTSA. I also have helped the district development programs to better invest in marginalized students who weren't getting the resources they needed to succeed.

My top priority in Olympia is to make child care truly affordable for everyone. There's no question we're in a child care crisis in our state with some families spending more than their rents and mortgages on day care. We need universally available, publically-funded, affordable child care now.
